Powwows are contemporary social gatherings for Indigenous Peoples to showcase dancing, singing, and craftsmanship while affirming relationships between Indigenous Peoples and non-Indigenous guests. Mike Simms and friends from the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center (COTRAIC) will demonstrate various types of powwow dances with guest dancers wearing their striking regalia.

Dr. Alexa Woloshyn’s North American Indigenous Music Seminar (NAIMS) will be hosting a number of special guests on Wednesday evenings throughout the fall semester as part of this series. All events begin at 7pm and will end between 8 and 8:30pm. Some guests will be virtual.
