Asraiel Harewood

Bio
In her role as Director of Enrollment Operations and Strategy, Asraiel works across Enrollment Management to track, document and coordinate high-level initiatives and special projects. Asraiel also oversees the work of the administrative support staff within the office ensuring that administrative practices and processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
Asraiel joined Carnegie Mellon in 2021 as a part-time application reader and later transitioned to a full-time Assistant Director in the Office of Undergraduate Admission where she focused her work on financial aid and staff development. In July 2022, Asraiel was promoted to Director of the Office/Senior Project Manager in Admission, where her duties included overseeing general office operations and the administrative support staff. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, she served as an Educational Advisor with the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Scholars Program and was a two-time district Teacher of the Year finalist at ARMS International Baccalaureate in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, NC.
Asraiel, who was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Barbadian immigrants, has called Pittsburgh home since the age of four. She completed a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Education at Duke University and also earned a Master’s degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University School of Education.
