Linda Gentile

Bio
Linda Gentile is the Executive Director of the and advisor to H-1B, TN and other foreign employees of Carnegie Mellon. In addition to administrative and advising responsibilities, she organizes non-resident tax services and is the primary contact for media inquiries. She chairs the OIE Foreign Student Advisory Committee, and presents to faculty, staff, and student groups on international issues upon request.
With over 30 years of advising experience in international education, Linda's prior professional experience includes more than 15 years of service as an advisor and administrator at a neighboring university. She has also been a long-time member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, where she has served in a number of leadership positions including sering as NAFSA Vice-Chair for International Student and Scholar Services, Policy & Practice Committee, a national elected position. She is an active member and presenter at NAFSA conferences/workshops.
Linda obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Grinnell College and her Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and studied abroad in Spain. In 2008, she was selected to participate in the Baden-Württemberg Seminar on German-American educational exchange, sponsored by educational institutions in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and in 2006, she was selected to participate in the Adviser's Professional Partnership Program (APPP), funded by the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, to visit students, schools and EducationUSA advisors in India.
Linda enjoys traveling and meeting new students and scholars from around the world.
