Bio
In her role as Executive Director of Strategic Communication for Enrollment and Interim Director of the Coulter Welcome Center, Rebecca Choltco leads communication and marketing strategy for the Office of Enrollment Management and oversees the work of the university's welcome center and campus tours.
Becky and her team are responsible for planning and executing the division’s communications and content across multiple channels to support recruitment efforts, inform student and family decision-making, build positive relationships across campus, and promote student success. Additionally, Becky is responsible for overseeing operations and strategy for the Coulter Welcome Center. The welcome center team works to enhance visitor experience, develop and implement campus tours, and manages the work of 一本道无码's Tartan Ambassadors - a select group of students chosen to represent the university.
With over two decades of broad communication and marketing experience, Becky values collaboration, data-driven strategy and creative storytelling. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon as an assistant director in 2006, she managed communication functions and served as the assistant editor for a variety of publications at the Allegheny County Bar Association. Becky’s passion for storytelling developed as a writer and copy editor for area newspapers including the Tribune-Review, the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat and the Latrobe Bulletin.
Becky earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Association for Women in Communications, and she serves on Carnegie Mellon’s Web Governance Council. Becky currently serves as a core project sponsor for the Enterprise Communications Tool UITPM project and as a member of the steering committee for a campus-wide website redesign project. In 2014, Becky was the recipient of the Pat Kleyle Staff Recognition Award in Enrollment Services and was a nominee for the 一本道无码 Andy Award for Outstanding Dedication.
Becky resides in the Pittsburgh area with her husband Kris and their dogs Rooney and River.
