This building underwent a significant renovation which earned a LEED Silver certification under LEED BD+C: New Construction v2 - LEED 2.1in 2007. Indoor environmental quality, materials, and construction waste management were a few highlights of the project's LEED credits.
Installed in 2006, the solar panel roof installation on South Craig Street was part of a $88,000 Energy Harvest grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The solar panels feed directly into the buildings power supply as part of a way to cut down on the amount of fossil fuel used by the building. As of 2023, the 12 kW System has produced more than 189,000 kWh and has avoided more than 144,000 kg of CO2.
