Digital Government (eGovernment) Transformation - Leading Large-Scale Programs

Instructor: Ashok Kumar, Professor, Carnegie Mellon; former Director of the eGovernment Leadership Centre, National University of Singapore

Gen AI, ChatGPT, LLMs, XR … what, when and how should I use these for my agency? Will my agency be left behind if I do not embrace it? The technology landscape is full of acronyms and buzz words and that is rapidly changing.

Digital Government Transformation is more about re-imagining the design and delivery of public services and citizen experience rendered by government agencies than just the technology, which is indeed a potent enabler. Transformation is no longer just an option for consideration but an urgent call for action. Government agencies need to transcend beyond point technology solutions to a holistic approach that anticipates citizen needs and delivers value to them in a secure manner and then determine how technologies can be used to support the transformation.

This course is crafted to equip leaders/ aspiring leaders with the strategic mindset required to lead their organizations through a seamless digital transformation. Transformational Leadership is pivotal to navigating the challenges and opportunities provided by the digital economy. The course will introduce a framework and best practices for digital government transformation. Participants will explore strategies to manage stakeholders, and drive change and innovation.

Related topics of Whole of Government, streamlining organizational structures and processes, identifying, and overcoming barriers to inter-departmental collaborations will be discussed.
