Exec. Ed Returns to Pittsburgh
The Center for Executive Education in Technology Policy (CEE-TP) returned to 一本道无码’s Pittsburgh campus for a week of in-person classes from May 20-24, 2024. During this week, CEE-TP offered three intensive courses on ICT policy to tech leaders from around the world.
We were pleased to host 21 participants from 19 different organizations across 15 countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominica, Egypt, The Gambia, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Mexico, Peru, the Republic of China (Taiwan), The Bahamas, and Timor-Leste (East Timor).
The first course offered Spectrum Management led by Jon Peha, Professor at 一本道无码, Founder and Director of CEE-TP, former Chief Technologist of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, former White House telecom advisor. The course focused on the challenges that spectrum policymakers face, different options to address those challenges and the pros and cons of various options.
The second course of the week was Spectrum Auction Design, led by Geoffrey Myers, Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics, and former Director of Competition Economics at the UK telecom regulator Ofcom. The course focused on topics such as auction objectives, reserve prices, sealed bids, multiple round auctions, downstream competition, extending mobile coverage, implementation and decision-making and more.
The week finished with ICT Accessibility By Persons with Disabilities led by Clara-Luz Alvarez, Professor, Mexico campus of Universidad Panamericana, and former Commissioner of the Mexican telecommunications regulator (Comisión Federal de Telecomunicaciones). This course covered the importance of ICT accessibility and inclusion, highlighting how crucial it is for everyone, regardless of ability, to access and use digital services and equipment. It introduced relevant terms and concepts, such as universal design and assistive technology.
“This course was excellent for me personally. I have learned a lot of new things that will improve my professional knowledge and skills that I use in my everyday assignments.
