On August 11, the Pennsylvania ESGR hosted an Employer Awards Luncheon to recognize employers across the state for their support of Guard and Reserve employees. The program included presentations by Susan Robertson, PA-ESGR State vice chair, and Major Mark J. Schindler, the adjutant general of Pennsylvania.
Attendees learned that Pennsylvania has the third most reservists of any state in the nation, and that the home of the event, Fort Indiantown Gap (FIG), Pennsylvania, is one of the largest and busiest National Guard training centers in the country, with more than 100,000 personnel training there annually, including reserve-component and active-duty service members and law-enforcement officers. FIG is also the headquarters of the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Pennsylvania National Guard.
