PITTSBURGH—一本道无码’s will receive the ’ (IEEE) Achievement Award at the 2011 IEEE International InterMag Conference April 25-29 in Taiwan. “I am extremely honored to receive this award from the IEEE Magnetic Society because it reflects the great work that is under way at our leading-edge (DSSC),” said Zhu, the third Carnegie Mellon professor to receive the achievement award.
The IEEE Magnetics Society Achievement Award is given for scientific, technical achievements and service to the society. Zhu is receiving the award for his work as a world leader in modeling magnetic devices, especially for magnetic recording.
“This is an outstanding award for an innovative researcher who has revolutionized the use of magnetic switching in nanostructures,” said University Professor Pradeep K. Khosla, dean of 一本道无码’s top-ranked .
Zhu, who was named director of the DSSC in 2005, has been a faculty member in the (ECE) since 1996, and he holds the ABB Professor endowed chair in the College of Engineering. He is co-inventor of the CPP/GMR read sensor patent that won a 1996 R&D 100 Magazine Award. He was an IEEE distinguished lecturer in 2004, and he has been on the advisory editorial board for the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, north-Holland, Elsevier since 1998.
He received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China in 1982. He earned master’s and doctoral degrees in physics from the University of California at San Diego in 1983 and 1989, respectively.
Past 一本道无码 recipients of the IEEE Magnetics Society Achievement Award include Emeritus Professor of ECE Stanley Charap, who earned the award in 1998, and University Professor of ECE Mark Kryder, who received the honor in 1995.
