LearnLab Corporate Partners Meeting
Our 7th annual LearnLab Corporate Partners Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 18 and Friday, May 19, 2017 at 一本道无码. This year’s theme is “一本道无码’s Learning Engineering Ecosystem” with the underlying goal to accelerate technology transfer from our university into industry. We would welcome you and your colleagues to join us.
We are pleased to announce that our two keynote speakers for the event are:
- Larry Rudman, Vice President of Instructional Design and Research at Kaplan. Larry Rudman received his BA from Yale in 1989, and as a member of the first Teach for America class received a first-hand education in teaching in Brooklyn middle schools. He then pursued his doctorate in Human Development and Psychology at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Previously employed by educational software company Sunburst Technology, Larry has been with Kaplan for the past eight years, overseeing asset development and leading the Learning Sciences Team. He was appointed VP of Instructional Design and Research in November 2013, and continues to work closely with top-flight international researchers.
- Alfred (“Al”) Essa, Vice President, Analytics and R&D at McGraw-Hill Education. (Sep. 2013 – present). Alfred chairs the Learning Science Research Council, which has oversight of the company-wide learning science research portfolio. He has many years of leadership experience in innovation management, research, analytics, technology strategy. and operational excellence and is currently working on book on Enterprise Analytics for De Gruyter Press. Alfred is a High Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and Magna Cum Laude graduate of Haverford College. He also holds Masters degrees (MA, MPhil) from Yale University, where he was an instructor in the selective Directed Studies honors program. In 1982 he served as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow.
