Your To-Do List

You'll be checking off many enrollment tasks during the summer, but some are important to complete early. To make your life a little easier, we鈥檝e divided your tasks into things to do now, next and later. You'll receive more information via email about preparing for Carnegie Mellon beginning in May.

Activate Your Andrew Account

We're creating your听Andrew Account听right now! You will receive an email from听it-help@cmu.edu with the subject line "Action Required: Your Andrew userID Has Been Created" some time after submitting your deposit. Be sure to check your spam folder.

Housing and Dining Forms

Once you create your Andrew Account, you can complete the Housing Contract and the Meal Plan Enrollment Form through the Housing and Dining Portal. These forms will become available on or after April 1 and are due by May 25.

Parent/Family Information Form

Now that you're enrolled, complete the Parent/Family Information Form by May 31 so that you and your parents, guardians or other family members听can receive updates about campus events and initiatives.

Manage Your Student Identity

Being addressed accurately on campus is critical to a sense of belonging. Carnegie Mellon offers data services that enable students to manage their identities in a number of ways, including selecting a preferred first name and storing pronouns.

Students who wish to designate a preferred first name听can do so using Student Information Online (SIO).听Once you set a preferred name, it will appear internally to academic and administrative advisors, as well as on your ID card. Setting your preferred name won't replace your official name where it is legally required. You can also manage other aspects of your identity, such as your pronouns, the pronunciation of your name, and your race and ethnicity in SIO.

Newly enrolled students can begin accessing Student Information Online (SIO) after May 16.

First-Year Orientation

As a first-year student, you鈥檒l kick off your Carnegie Mellon experience with the First-Year Orientation program. It鈥檚 designed for the meet-new-friends, make-some-memories and soak-up-the-culture kind of mind. Upperclass student leaders help plan and present the program, so you can look forward to a fun and helpful introduction to university life.
