An e-mail acknowledging receipt of submission will be sent out within 3 business days. Submitted abstracts will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Submission Window: June 24, 2024 - July 26, 2024

Guidelines for Pre-recorded Slide Presentation

The pre-recorded slide presentations will be held virtually on September 20, 2024. The session features E-poster/slides presentations via pre-recorded videos and an interactive chat function for Q&A with the presenters. Detailed instructions for the pre-recorded slide presentation will be sent to the presenter upon acceptance of the abstract. Briefly, the presenter of each accepted abstract is required to complete the following items by noon of August 23, 2024, US Eastern Time:

  • Register on the Whova App using the same email address as the abstract submission.
  • Submit a PDF file (< 2 MB) summarizing the poster, which contains 3 slides (slide 1: title, authors, background, purpose of the study; slide 2: methods; slide 3: results and conclusion).
  • Submit a video file (< 25 MB) of pre-recorded presentation (< 5 minutes, no limitation on the number of slides) of the poster content, using mp4 or mov video formats. Please refer to our  for detailed instructions on video preparation.

Guidelines for Pre-recorded Slide Competition

During the pre-recorded slide presentation session, there will be a competition open to all non-faculty presenters. These presenters will compete for Outstanding Presentation Awards of the Forum, which each consists of a $200 prize and a Certificate. Up to 8 Outstanding Presentation Awards will be provided based on the quality of work and presentation. There will also be a category consisting of 1 People’s Choice Award, which will be voted on by Forum attendees. In order to participate in the Pre-recorded Slide Competition, the presenter of the pre-recorded video must be the first author (non-faculty: a graduate or undergraduate student, postdoc, resident, or fellow) and available for real-time interaction with the judges during the official viewing session. Each author can only submit one abstract for competition as the first author, but may co-author multiple abstracts. People’s Choice Award will be selected based on feedback from all Forum participants.

Late-Breaking Abstract Submission

You still have the opportunity to present your research at the Forum if you missed the general abstract submission deadline. Submit your Late-Breaking Abstract by noon on August 26, 2024. Please note that Late-Breaking Abstract Submissions will not be eligible for award competition.

If your abstract is accepted, please be prepared to provide a pre-recorded 5-minute video and a PDF file of a 3-slide presentation describing your research. These materials should be uploaded to Whova by September 9, 2024. We will guide you through the process with all necessary links and instructions.
