Outreach
Penn State Center for Nanotechnology Education & Utilization (CNEU)
is a member of the NSF Center for Nanotechnology Applications and Career Knowledge (NACK) Network. The center offers the Capstone semester, which is required for all 34 Pennsylvania Nanofabrication Manufacturing Technology Partnership programs (NMTP, Bachelor or Associate degrees).
Dr. Zheng gives a half day lecture on micro/nanotechnology for biomedical applications and demonstrated some devices from his previous research.
Discovery Space Children’s Science Museum of Central Pennsylvania
opened in State College in 2011 with a mission “To provide engaging science experiences which spark creativity, curiosity and imagination”. It is a non-profit organization that provides the opportunity for hands on learning through interactive exhibits for children aged 2-12.
The lab presents an exhibit on cancer and what makes it bad.
Penn State's Millennium Science Complex (MSC)
is a 275,600 square-foot science building housing two of the University's premier research organizations - the Materials Research Institute and The Huck Institutes for the Life Sciences. It is a new facility to encourage the convergence of engineering, physical science, and life sciences. As one of the research labs resides in the building, we frequently provide tours for the public visitors.
We hosted a group of high school students from the Northern Bedford High School of Loysburg, PA, which is 66 miles from Penn State.
Penn State's Bennett Family Center
The is the daycare center on campus. It provides daycare for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Corl Street Elementary School
is a local member of the State College Area School District serving Grades K-5. Suzie and Ramdane visited Mrs. Hooper’s 5th grade class to present some of the concepts involved with their research. Activities included making models of blood in tests tubes and a demonstration of phase contrast microscopy.
