Hunker
Changing of the Guard at the Heinz School

The Heinz School hosted a reception for its new dean, Jeffrey Hunker, in mid-May. Hunker, former senior director for critical infrastructure for the White House National Security Council, assumed his new position this spring following a national search for a successor to Mark Kamlet. Kamlet was promoted to university provost last August. Above, Hunker poses with Linda Babcock, the James Mellon Walton professor of economics, who served as acting dean while the search was in progress. Hunker, a native of Upper St. Clair, received several welcoming gifts at the reception including a PNC Park baseball hat and baseball (above right) from James Rohr, president and chief executive officer of the PNC Financial Services Group. Rohr is a life trustee of the university.
