Bio

I’m interested in how literary characters are affected by dominant social norms; and subsequently, how an individual’s view of their inner world and the changing world around them, reflects collective social anxieties. In particular, I examine veterans' mental health, and notions of masculinity with an emphasis on the relationship between class and gender.
