"The M.A. program gave me a lot of practical skills and useful perspectives to help engage in my day-to-day work as a Learning and Development Manager at the University of Minnesota Medical School. The challenging reading loads and interdisciplinary nature of my courses allowed me to gain familiarity with academic writing across disciplines, and helped improve my ability to synthesize information to form coherent arguments and draft coherent literature reviews. I use these skills on a day-to-day basis as I'm asked to synthesize research on DEI topics and research in psychological, communications, and organizational management for UMN faculty, physicians, and residents. Moreover, the program's emphasis on critical, audience-centric writing and communication made me incredibly thoughtful about the participants I work with and how their perspectives should inform how I tailor information in the sessions I lead."
