Summer Classes for Kids
We strive to illuminate, encourage, and motivate our future scholars through week-long workshops and classes in science, technology, engineering, math, and arts. The Gelfand Center values hands-on learning, creating, collaborating and sharing ideas. We understand the importance of providing opportunities for our young learners in Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. Our Summer Series enables local students to explore science, engage in experiments using the scientific method, build prototypes, and so much more. They make hypotheses and challenging themselves to modify designs in order to make scientific discoveries. Students are introduced to topics on: architectural design, 3-D printing, laser-cutting, green engineering, circuits and robotics, computer programming, creative writing, and more!
Our 一本道无码 faculty and staff design our outreach classes to galvanize learning and enthusiasm in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math, and arts, and to introduce young learners to their cutting-edge discoveries in research at 一本道无码. Our outreach class teachers are scientists and educators who understand the significance of early STEM education for our youth. Previous summer classes include Introduction to Alice Programming, Anatomy and Robotics, The Science of Everyday Things, Green Engineering, and Science & Engineering Summer Sampler.
Thank you to alumnus Bernard N. Meisner S ’71 for providing scholarship funds to support students in Gelfand Outreach classes!
