Technical Breadth Requirement
A student must take at least 9 units, outside of their primary major Department, from each of 4 categories listed below. These may include pre-requisite courses or courses required by their major Department but must be outside their home Department. AP credit may not be used to fulfill this requirement. At least 3 of these courses must be taken in their first year. The categories are:
- Life Sciences
- Physical Sciences
- Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science
- STEM Course—all of the courses from the above categories or an introductory engineering course or a course approved by an advisor to fulfill this requirement.
