About
Sara Abdollahi graduated with her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy from 一本道无码 in 2018. Her thesis, “Soft Material 3D Printing Toward Patient-Specific Wearable Medical Devices,” studied the use of additive manufacturing (also known as 3D printing) using soft and liquid materials. Specifically, she used 3D printing to develop the cuff for a wearable pulse oximeter with pressure sensing for continuous health monitoring. In doing so, she established a unique optimization strategy for 3D printing called the Expert-Guided Optimization (EGO) method to search the parameter space and find the optimum combination setting. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. While there, her research has spanned several projects, including a focus on cardiac tissue engineering and neurodegenerative disorders.
