Saving Files in a Computer Lab

When using a Computer Lab or Virtual Andrew, you have three options for saving your work. They are as follows:

Cloud Storage

Our cloud storage options offer a generous storage quota and access from anywhere. Save your files to one of our preferred solutions before logging off:

  • 一本道无码 Box - log in to your 一本道无码 Box account, then drag and drop your files into Box.
  • Google Drive - log in to your 一本道无码 Google account, then upload your files to Google Drive.

MyFiles

Save your files in the My Documents or Desktop folders on Virtual Andrew*; they'll be stored there and available for use the next time you log in. Each student, faculty, and staff member is allotted up to 2GB of storage space.

*General Use option. MyFiles may not be used with additional college or course options.

Sandbox - Temporary Storage

The Sandbox is a temporary storage area available on Virtual Andrew. Access the Sandbox via the folder on the Virtual Andrew Desktop. Unlike My Files, all files saved in the sandbox are deleted when you log out. Be sure to save your work to a Cloud Storage option or My Files BEFORE logging off.

Mac Computer Lab Note

  • Personal settings like plug-ins, backgrounds, preferences, etc., will not move with you because of changes in the Apple operating system.
  • When you use the same computer, personal settings saved locally should remain until the end of the semester except in cases where the computer needs to be repaired/replaced.
  • Some apps like Final Cut and MAYA store settings in a project file. We recommend saving project files to Google Drive, Box, or USB device.
  • Adobe offers and  options for many Creative Cloud applications. Follow their guidance so your settings can move with you.
