HERStory: Uplifting Silenced Voices in History
History has its eyes on you! On Wednesday, March 23 at 12 p.m., in the Danforth Conference Room of the Cohon University Center, join Carnegie Mellon's Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion and the Office of Title IX Initiatives for a panel discussion in honor of Women's History Month. The panel will focus on women whose narratives have been ignored or silenced and how we can give voice to diverse experiences from the past, present and future. Lunch will be provided! .
Energy Career Fair
Interested in a career in energy? Feeling stressed about the end of the semester? On Thursday, March 24, from 4 to 5 p.m., join the Peer Led Pause and use art to decompress. Sponsored by the Mindfulness Room, this weekly pause introduces different well-being and mindfulness practices to help you manage the everyday stresses of college. March Madness
March Madness is coming to Pittsburgh! Every year college basketball teams compete in this championship tournament, and this year Pittsburgh is hosting first and second-round matchups on March 18 and 20, at the PPG Paints Arena. Whether you’re new to American sports and want to know what everyone’s talking about, or you want to brush up on how the brackets work, check out this . The 2022 Pittsburgh Japanese Film Festival
Did you know the biggest Japanese Film Festival outside New York and Chicago is right here in Pittsburgh? Head over to Row House Cinema during March to check out everything from recent releases from Japan to classic films and anime selections. Penguin-palooza
It's penguin-palooza! On Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., waddle over to the National Aviary and celebrate all things penguin! This event is perfect for all ages and has something for everyone. Learn what makes penguins unique through interactive activities and special talks while kids can take home a penguin craft. Plus, visit the National Aviary's colony of adorable African Penguins, and learn about the Aviary's work to save penguins from extinction. You can purchase in advance.
Spring Equinox Tree Exploration
Sunday is the first day of Spring! What better way to celebrate the start of the season than to honor two powerhouses of Pittsburgh's environmental movement, Wangari Maathai and Rachel Carson. On Sunday, March 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., enjoy a walk around the Wangari Maathai garden. Join Master Naturalist Gabrielle Rovegno on the grounds of the Cathedral of Learning to learn about the urban forests of Pittsburgh and the legacy of the city's environmentalist movement.
