Supermarkets and grocery stores are usually open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm; some may even be open 24 hours a day.

Most other stores open around 9:30 am and close around 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. On Sunday, stores hours are usually from 11:00 am or 12:00pm to 6:00pm. 

Shopping malls are open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm every day except Sunday, when they are open from 11:00am to 6:00 pm.

Other states and cities also charge sales tax on purchases, but there is no uniform nationwide sales tax. NOTE: Tax is not listed on the items direct cost; instead it is added upon purchase of the items.

You can save money by buying used items, such as clothing, furniture, and other household goods.
