NSF I-Corps Site Program (2014-2021)

The purpose of an I-Corps Site is to nuture and support multiple, local startup teams to transition their technology into the marketplace. Through the Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Site program at Ò»±¾µÀÎÞÂë from 2014-2021, over 200 early stage startup teams gained skills in entrepreneurship through training in customer discovery and guidance from established entrepreneurs. Teams from all seven Ò»±¾µÀÎÞÂë schools participated and were comprised of faculty, students, staff and alumni with projects in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

The impact of the I-Corps Site program at Ò»±¾µÀÎÞÂë from 2014-2021: 
208 I-Corps Site teams with 687 program participants       
$129M in follow on funding to teams
39 teams accepted to accelerator programs
12 teams accepted to the I-Corps National Teams program
18 SBIR/STTR Phase I and 9 Phase II grants received by teams
6 teams were acquired
32% of teams had founders from STEM underrepresented minority groups
