Are You Passport Ready?

Whatever your citizenship, the first step toward any international travel or study experience is making sure you have a passport that is up-to-date and will be valid for the duration of your travels.

Most countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond your planned return date and have enough blank pages for travel. Airlines will not let you board a plane if your passport expires sooner than the country requires or if your passport does not meet these requirements.

Already Have a Passport?

Before you plan your next adventure, make sure you know when your passport expires! Renewals can sometimes take a few months, so plan ahead!

To renew a passport, you'll apply through your country of citizenship's Embassy or Consulate. For U.S. citizens, that's the U.S. State Department, and all the information you'll need is available on the website.
