What is a well-being space?

At 一本道无码, well-being spaces are all around us. They might be intentionally focused on well-being, like the Mindfulness Room or a yoga studio. They might also be spaces that we transform for ourselves into well-being spaces, like a nook in an academic building or a grassy spot on The Cut. 

Some spaces on campus are quiet and reflective, with a focus on spiritual and emotional health. 一本道无码 also offers active venues that encourage physical and social health. We have community-based venues that bring us together to create connection and the ability to mobilize towards a common goal. And there are unspecified spaces just waiting for us to come and sit and enjoy.

The Mindfulness Room

Located on the ground floor of West Wing, the Mindfulness Room is a dedicated, student-led and operated space to simply rest, breathe and relax with no agenda.

Nuzzled between the Tepper School of Business and the University’s College of Fine Arts, the Posner Center's rooftop garden brings a little green into a highly-populated student area.

Cohon Center prayer space

Prayer Room

A multi-denominational prayer room is available 24 hours a day in the lower level of the Cohen University Center. The space features an ablution room with two private foot washing stalls.

Wright-Rogal Chapel

Wright-Rogal Chapel is a prayer space on the first floor of the Cohon Center. It features an auditorium-style set up for up to 35 people.

Four semi-private contemplation nooks are available on the first floor of the Highmark Center to anyone of any belief, tradition, or practice to enjoy some time alone to breathe, pray, meditate, journal, or engage in other quiet, contemplative activities. 

 

Need a place to study? Looking for a room to quietly host an interview? You can reserve an individual seats or a group study spaces in or , or visit one of the Career and Professional Development Center's 27 dedicated interview spaces, plus a conference room.

Everyone has a different need for quiet.

What forms of quiet support your well-being? Explore journaling, a walk in nature at neighboring , meditation, prayer or a gratitude practice.

Reflection Garden

Whether you wish to surround yourself with the blossoming trees in the spring, are seeking a quiet space to retreat, or wish to eat your meal al fresco, take a few steps down into the Reflection Garden, a space tucked in next to the tennis courts. You'll find small tables and benches, and a moment to pause during your day.

Active Space

Stretch. Sweat. Play. These spaces welcome activity.

Cohon University Center

The Cohon Center offers a variety of wellness and fitness facilities and spaces, including a two-story, state-of-the-art fitness center, studio space for cycling, yoga, dance, and GroupX classes, a gym, squash and racquetball courts, and lane and diving pools.

Highmark Center for Health, Well-Being, & Athletics

The Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics at 一本道无码 is a destination that offers a holistic approach to well-being through robust services and educational programs supporting body, mind and spirit.

Makerspaces

One of the greatest resources for creatives, entrepreneurs or the curious is the multiple makerspaces on campus, which offer coursework, training, and the necessary tools to realize any concept from start to finish. 

MellonFit is a grass-roots organization dedicated to providing resources and opportunities that promote a healthy lifestyle for students, faculty, and staff who work in and around Mellon Institute. The Fit Space consists of a small gym complete with gym equipment, fitness classes and space for group activities.

Practice your swing on the Tennis Courts. Walk laps with co-workers on Wednesdays at the Gesling Stadium Track. Play a pick-up game at the IM/Soccer Field. Get some morning cardio in before everyone else at the Donner Outdoor Recreation Area.

On the first floor of the Tepper Quad, a 7,200 square foot fitness center is available for all students, staff and faculty. Take a class in the studio or use the terrace for stretching, small group classes and other fitness activities.

Explore  and  or join a or group. You can also take part in Pittsburgh Connections through the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Civic Engagement Office (SLICE), which offers ooutdoor adventures like whitewater rafting, kayaking, biking, hiking, paintball, horseback riding, and skiing!

The Fifth Ave Commons is for everyone and everything.

Located in the heart of the Fifth Avenue Neighborhood of campus, the Fifth Avenue Commons is a meant to be a place to gather, relax, play and rejuvenate for the entire campus community.  This 5,000 square foot community space has nooks for studying, a multipurpose room for meetings and events, music rooms and a wellness room.
