Bio

My work focuses on genre theory, language ideologies and DEI in curriculum development and assessment to bring meaningful experiences to learners. Some of my most valued roles as an educator include mentoring students, developing course curricula and collaborating with partners in programs and offices across a variety of disciplines. It is important to me to create equitable and just occasions for all learners, helping them strengthen their own voices and discover their unique learning paths.

In LCAL, I have taught 82-795 Ideologies of Critical Language Awareness and 82-794D Teaching Methodologies: TESOL. In the English Department, I have taught First-Year Writing Program courses (76-100, 76-101), the practicum in tutoring (76-302/702) and writing and communication for graduate students (76-745 and 76-748–multilingual focus). Additionally, I held the position of director of communication and language support in the Student Academic Success Center. As part of my commitment to educational diplomacy outside the classroom, I have collaborated with RISS, SURS, SAMS and The Neighborhood Academy. In each space, I have truly valued interacting with amazing students and colleagues.

When I'm not reading, I enjoy gardening, petting other people's dogs and hiking.
