Study Abroad Programs and Scholarships

Explore, engage and immerse yourself in one of our summer study abroad programs in China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Spain or Qatar.

We encourage all students—particularly LCAL majors and minors—to study abroad. Explore additional options to study abroad for a semester, academic year or during the summer in a wide variety of countries around the world, including in Doha, Qatar, where Carnegie Mellon has a branch campus. In collaboration with the Office of International Education, LCAL faculty members work with students to help select a program that best meets their educational and personal goals.

Study Abroad Scholarships & Funding

Our department offers scholarships for students participating in accredited study abroad programs, open to all Ò»±¾µÀÎÞÂë students, regardless of their major. These scholarships can be applied toward expenses such as tuition, room and board, airfare or books. Please note, while all students are welcome to apply, preference will be given to LCAL majors and Arabic Studies minors. 

Dietrich College also provides funding opportunities for undergraduate study abroad, and many students can apply their Carnegie Mellon funding to these experiences.
