Bio

A Chinese 101 class during college convinced me that language study as an adult was much more than acquiring the content of a course - the social and cognitive implications of relearning the world fundamentally challenged my identity and ways of interacting with others. This story is not unique; our department is beautiful for the diversity of narratives that both overlap and completely diverge. I went on to study Turkish and Italian, and have worked with study abroad programs in both languages. My research focuses on plurilingual learners and how their identities are shaped by interaction.
